The life and work of
Finis Jennings Dake.
A growing record of a pastor, teacher, author, and lifelong student of Scripture—preserved for readers, teachers, and future generations.
A LIFE OF STUDY
From Missouri to a worldwide teaching legacy.
Finis Jennings Dake was born in Iberia, Missouri, in 1902. His ministry included pastoral work, Bible-school leadership, evangelistic meetings, lectures, radio teaching, and an extraordinary body of written work. His published testimony describes a lifelong commitment to studying Scripture carefully and teaching only what he believed could be established from it.
The Dake Annotated Reference Bible began as the central work of that calling. The New Testament edition appeared in 1961, followed by the complete Bible in 1963. Alongside it, Dake wrote books, prepared teaching materials, and developed the large-scale Plan of the Ages chart.
